Seventeen-year-old Tara attempts to convince her lawyers that her estranged best friend, Ella, is responsible for a prom weekend gone fatally wrong—a task made difficult by how she can’t stop picturing Ella as one of the lawyers. In order to convince the room of what she believes to be the truth, Tara not only has to confront this traumatic event, but, even more, the complexities of a friendship still haunting her.
