My Life in Limbo

My Life in Limbo tells the story of Manal, a single mother of four from Damascus who has lived in Lebanon for eight years. To make ends meet, she operates a hair salon out of her cramped one-bedroom apartment in Bourj Hammoud, Beirut’s Armenian quarter. Her youngest son, Jamil, is an up-and-coming rap artist who goes by the name Jico El-Irani. Her eldest daughter, Riham, was recently attending university in Damascus but had to leave her studies because of the war. This interactive webdoc tells the story of a family searching for the possibility of a brighter future while navigating the challenges of life in limbo together.
