If the United States wanted to defeat communism, it needed to do so “by the strategy of cold war”. This was a new kind of conflict requiring new kinds of weapons: psychological weapons.
During that period of experimentation test subjects were exposed to interrogation, mind-altering substances and abuse. Many of these test were performed in children, the sick, and mentally disabled individuals, often under the guise of “medical treatment”. These techniques were applied with the intention of implanting suggestions and other forms of mental control, making the subjects more compliant.
