The story follows Matt Kowalski, a high school history teacher and caring father, who suddenly has to face the aggressive prejudice of his students and colleagues once they find out that he is Jewish. Matt has recently moved to a new town with his daughter Bailey, both of whom will be starting at a new high school. One day, Matt decides to wear his yarmulke to school in protest of a loosely enforced “no religious attire” policy on campus. Unexpectedly, this leads Matt down a road of intense discrimination. In the end, we see how the history of Matt’s people has come to haunt him.
